Word of advice to Vincent Kompany: if you're going to try and get one over Piers Morgan on Twitter, make sure you don't lose to CSKA at home the next day...

Oh Vincent, this hasn't gone well...

Yesterday Piers Morgan made a very public attempt to lure Manchester City captain Vincent Kompany from the Etihad to his beloved Arsenal via Twitter - a proposal the Belgian rejected with predictable politeness.

If we're honest though, it wasn't going to take long for the conversation to get a little more feisty. People in the public eye love to get one over each other in the twittersphere, and Vinnie Kompany is no different.

This time though, despite all the social media flirting, it's backfired:

City fans will love that response. But then came last night and Man City 2-1 defeat at home to CSKA Moscow:
